Sizes: XS, S, M, L - finished bust 30 (32, 34, 36"); finished length 18.5 (19, 19.5, 19.5").
Esprit knitted fabric is very stretchy, and tank is designed to be close fitting. To determine the size that will suit you best, wearing a bra, measure your bust at its widest point, and choose a finished bust size 3" to 4" smaller than this.
Materials:
4 (4, 5, 5) balls of elann.com Esprit, shown in 6150 Deep Fuchsia.
2 balls of elann.com Sonata, shown in 6150 Deep Fuchsia.
4.5mm (US 7) Knitting Needles.
3.5mm (E) Crochet hook.
Stitch holder.
Gauge:
Measured over stockinette, 24 sts = 4".
Take time to check gauge.
Stitch Patterns:
Pattern A (Garter Drop Stitch)
Rows1 - 4: Knit.
Row 5: *K1, yarn over needle twice. Rep. from * to end.
Row 6: Knit, dropping the extra loops.
Repeat row 1-6.
Pattern B (Garter Stitch)
Knit every row.
Back:
With 4.5mm (US 7) knitting needles and elann.com Esprit, cast on 90 (96, 102, 108) sts. Work Pattern A for 10 rows, then begin shaping: dec 1 st each side (right side) and then every 6th row 4 (4, 5, 5) times � 80, (86, 90, 96) sts. Work even until piece measures approximately 5.5 (5.75, 6, 6.25)", inc 1 st each side every 6 rows 5 (5, 6, 6) times � 90 (96, 102, 108) sts. When back measures approximately 8", end with row 6 of Pattern A, work Pattern B. Cont until piece measures 11.5 (12, 12.5, 12.5)".
Underarm Shaping: Bind off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Bind off 1 st at beg of next 2 rows 4 times � 70(76, 82, 88) sts. Cont in Pattern B st until piece measures 13.5 (14, 14.5, 14.5)", ending with a wrong side row.
Begin Neck Shaping: K 34 (37, 40, 43) sts, join another ball of yarn, bind of the center 2 sts and continue to knit the last 34 (37, 40, 43) sts. Turn, Work both sides at once. Dec 1 st at each neck edge every 2nd row until 11, (12 , 13, 14) sts remaining. Work even until piece measures 18.5 (19, 19.5, 19.5)". Leave remaining shoulder sts on holders.
Front:
Work as for back, including all shaping.
Bind off shoulder seams:
Hold back and front with right sides together, and the needles parallel, insert a third needle knitwise into the first stitch of each needle, wrap the yarn around the needle as if to knit. Knit these two stitches together and slip them off the needles, knit the next two stitches together in the same way. Slip the first stitch on the third needle over the second stitch and off the needle.

Row 1: Ch 3 (counted as 1 st dc) . For Size XS: Work 1 dc into each st. of the bottom edge, inc 6 dcs evenly � 96 dcs. For Size S: Work 1 dc into each st. of the bottom edge. � 96 dcs. For Size M: Work 1dc into each st. of the bottom edge , inc 2 dcs evenly � 104 dcs. For Size L: Work 1 dc into each st. of the bottom edge, inc 4 dcs evenly � 112 dcs. Slip st on the 3rd ch of the ch 3.
Row 2: ch 1, sc 1 into each of the next 2dc, * ch 2, skip 1dc, make 2 dc into next dc, ch2, make 2 dc ino the same dc, ch 2, sc 1 into each of next 5 dc**; repeat from * to ** around the edge. End with sc 2 into the last 2 dc, slip st on the first ch1.
Row 3: ch 1, sc 1 into next sc, * ch3, skip next 2 ch sp, make 3 dc into next 2ch sp, ch 2, makd 3 dc into the same 2ch sp, ch 3, skip 1sc, sc 3 into each of next 3 sc**; repeat from * to ** around. End with sc 1 into the last sc, slip st on the first ch1.
Row 4: ch 1, ch 4, skip next 3 ch sp, make 4 dc into next 2ch sp, ch 2, make 4 dc into the same 2ch sp, skip 1 sc, sc 1 into next sc.** Rep. From * to ** around. End with slip st on the first ch. Fasten off.

Sew side seams.
Armhole Edging and Neck Finishing:
With 3.50 crochet hook and elann.com Sonata, crochet 1 round sc. And then slip st around each sc. Fasten off. Weave in all ends. Block.

1. Work five dcs into one stitch. Take the hook out of the working loop and insert it into the top of the first double crochet made, from front to back.
2. Pick up the working loop and draw this through to close the popcorn.
With 3.5mm (E) crochet hook and elann.com Sonata, pick up a st at the bottom of a side seam.

Row 3: ch 3 (counted as 1dc in popcorn), work 1 popcorn into the first dc, *skip ch 5 sp, work 1 popcorn into next dc, ch 5, work 1 popcorn into the same dc.** Rep from * to ** around. End with ch 5, slip st into the first popcorn.
Row 4: slip st into the first and second ch in next ch 5 arch. Ch 1, sc 1 into the same ch 5 arch. *ch 7, sc 1 into next 5ch arch* * Rep. From * to ** around. End with ch 7, slip st on the first sc. Fasten off.
